You Were Created to Create

Most of us think creativity is for people like Mozart, Einstein, or Picasso. But Genesis 1 tells us two things:
Our God is an incredibly creative God. Creativity originates with God, who is limitless in creative power. We are made in the image of God—God created us too with creativity.
But unlike God, we cannot create from nothing. Human creativity has always been out of something. It has been about taking what already exists and weaving it together in new ways. It’s also about recognizing patterns, reframing problems, and drawing inspiration from seemingly unrelated places.
That is how we got the Braille writing system.
Louis Braille lost his sight in an accident as a child. He was heartbroken that he could no longer read. One day, he happened to hold a pinecone and run his fingers across it. His thoughts began to merge across domains: “What if letters could be felt, just like the pinecone?” So he created the tactile Braille writing system. Reading + pinecone = a creative breakthrough
Two unrelated fields, reading + pinecone = one creative breakthrough that opened up the world for millions.
God has resourced us not to invent in a vacuum, but to create by blending and building on what already exists.
At work, when we allow our thoughts to stay fluid and draw on our experience and imagination, we might just end up creating something beautiful.
So, if you’re feeling stuck or limited: Let your creativity flow.
You just might solve what feels unsolvable or create something that brings joy to others.
